About Cert IV in Music Industry (Performance)

Certificate IV in Music Industry (Performance) (CUA40915) is a nationally recognized qualification run through the Collarts (The Australian College of the Arts) (RTO No. 0109). Students studying this qualification will continue to develop their skills as a performer and musician in a number of different aspects, in preparation for employment within the music industry.

Students will learn how to effectively manage themselves within the music industry, and undertake a number of tasks to help them pursue their music career including, seeking and booking performances at venues, how to effectively promote yourself, your band, etc. to maximize exposure, how to manage financial and business aspects of the music industry, and much more.

Improvisation skills and techniques are also developed within this qualification, showing students how to write melodies and solos on their instrument, in a range of different styles, using a range of different techniques. Students will have the opportunity to work in a number of group situations with their peers, to prepare for performances, write and record original songs.

Students will also learn to develop and maintain essential stagecraft skills to help enhance performances, including different ways of engaging the audience, and creating an atmosphere that will leave audiences wanting more
