About Cert II in Music (Performance Stream)
Certificate II in Music Industry (CUA20615) (Performance Stream) is a Collarts certified entry level course for people who want to work in the music industry with a foundation of music industry skills and knowledge.
Here, you will develop a knowledge of music, and learn to listen critically to music , and apply safe practices revelant to the music industry. You will learn how to work collaberatively with other musicians and production staff. Throughout the duration of the course you will gain skills and experience using a large variety of musical equipment such as guitar and bass amplifiers, basic P.A systems, etc. to prepare you to be able to work professionally in the music industry as a performer.
You will also be taught how to write original songs, how to arrange music in a number of popular song structures, how to prepare for a performance in the recording studio and how to prepare for live performances . You will also learn about the ins and outs of the music industry including important topics such as copyright, record labels, song rights, royalties, viable career paths in the industry and much, much, more.
This qualification is available to school students on VETis program on day release, subject to arrangement between individual schools and Castlerock.
